All Photographs Shot with the Fujifilm X70
Kevin Mullins is an acclaimed documentary wedding photographer from Newport, Wales. When he’s not photographing weddings he’s out shooting street photography. I recently joined him on one of his popular street photography workshops. Here are a few of the photographs I took during the day we spent walking around the streets of Cardiff.
I borrowed Kevin’s Fuji X70 16 MP compact digital camera, there’s no viewfinder instead a tilt screen and a 28mm wide-angle lens, not to everyones taste but I enjoyed the challenge and with the help of Mr Mullins sharing his techniques, especially zone focusing, I managed to capture some candid moments.

Kevin Mullins shares his Split Toning Technique
At the end of the day we went to the Owain Glyndŵr, Kevin bought the drinks and shared his Lightroom workflow, including his subtle split toning technique. The workshop was a great inspiration, I highly recommend taking his workshop.
I have applied the split toning effect to a few of my images below, IMHO it works best with wedding photography or where the colour white is dominant.
Fujifilm's GFX 50s v the X70
The Fujifilm X70 is a 16.3 MP pocket sized Compact Digital Camera. Compared here for size against the Fuji GFX 50s 51.4 MP medium format mirrorless camera. The GFX 50s also has a tilting LCD display on the rear and an ‘always on’ OLED screen on the top which shows the battery status and shots remaining when the camera is switched off, and various shooting settings when the camera is switched on.
